About Us

The LA Chill is a non-profit, Los Angeles-based women’s ice hockey travel club, dedicated to promoting women’s hockey. We are a group that prioritizes fun, camaraderie, and individual and team development. We participate in 2-3 tournaments annually, locally, nationally, and in Canada.

Since our inception in 1987, we have traveled to Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Nova Scotia, Niagara Falls, Alaska, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose, and San Diego. We won a few and had fun at all!

Practices: We hold practices as often as we can find ice time, which is a difficult thing to find! We do our best to hold practices in a central LA location, although we occasionally practice in Lakewood or San Fernando Valley. Any upcoming practices will be posted on our Current Events page, as well as a Email notification to our mail list.

Tournaments: Tournaments are decided and organized by core members who are willing to take the time and energy to arrange a team. All tournament suggestions are welcome! We typically go to Phoenix in May, somewhere in Canada, Alaska or other interesting location in the Spring, and occasionally Las Vegas in January. Teams are formed based on interest, with members getting first choices.

Charity Events: We have partnered with "Chance for Children" an LA Based non profit who supports at risk youth. We love to hold Ice Hockey days with these kids, taking them onto the ice, many for their very first time. We collect and use old gear to dress them and do our best to find old sticks to let them take home. Our goal is to do this annually, but some years, we've had to settle for a toy drive during the holidays. Ice times are hard to come by! Fundraising: We are a non profit organization, and have done fundraising in the past. We can arrange a system whereby members can utilize a portion of the funds raised for their participation in Chill tournaments.
